Christmas at Biltmore®
Art Notes
The Christmas season is the most magical time of the year. Of all the places to enjoy the Yule-tide spirit, there is none quite as wonderful as Biltmore. To visit the majestic chateau built by George Vanderbilt in 1895 is a profoundly inspiring experience. From the renowned architecture to the awe-inspiring gardens and vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there is no part of this national treasure that does not touch the guest’s heart.Inside and out, from every angle and in every room, the house is made festive in a style and manner that dates back over a hundred years. Santa leads the procession as a horse drawn carriage approaches the house, bringing along a tall Frasier Fir destined to be festooned and decorated in the mansion’s Banquet Hall. Estate pastry chefs keep the annual tradition of creating a grand scale gingerbread house of Biltmore covered in sweet treats down to the smallest detail. Smells of freshly cut garland and pine wreaths mingle in the air with the scents of warmly burning hearths and the hundreds of poinsettias highlighting the lavish decor. In each room, the light of the season drawn from candles and the sparkle of ornaments dance in the shadows and in the eyes of welcomed guests. .Let this masterwork, Christmas at Biltmore®, excite your own memories of the holiday season both at the estate and from your own home and family holiday traditions. From everyone at the Thomas Kinkade Studios, we thank you for sharing the light and wish you a very merry Christmas.

All of his painting are just fabulous. I absolutely love every painting he has ever done.
Thom once told me that each painting he did was with the help of the Holy Spirit. If anyone familiar with even great artists they will stop painting
but never seemed to be satisfied. Not Thom. He knew when he had finished, and even though some of his works weren’t well received he loved each one! It has been a privilege to work in various Kinkade Galleries watching people connect to his work so intimately and often Spiritually!
I’ve loved Thomas Kinkade ever since I “discovered” him, when he first appeared on QVC, selling his prints. I have several of his prints and treasure every one. If I could, I would love to have one of his original canvases, but, alas, I don’t have that kind of money. But I’m content with what I do have. I was devastated when he died — a light in the art world went out that day, and I felt as though a family member had died! He touched so many lives with his art. His witness and testimony for Christ was in every stroke he made, and the light he put into every painting was His light. Thom was blessed with his talent, and he, in turn, blessed all of us with his paintings. I miss you, Thom!!
I have shaken the hand of Thomas Kinkade a few times. He prayed for my wife with cancer 3 times. I recall my wife being in distress and pain but finding relief as she looked at Mountain Retreat by Thomas.
Owning a Thomas Kincade has been on my “bucket list” for quite some time. I was able to buy two pieces recently because of a sale. Even though they are small, I adore them. I can truly see the “Holy Spirit” in his capture of light. Thank you Thomas Kinkade for the smiles you art gives me and the rest of the world.
