The Pumpkin Festival
Art Notes
With autumn comes the Fall Harvest, changing leaves, vibrant colors, crisp air and a sense of community as families prepare for the season’s festivities. Across the United States, citizens in small towns and big cities gather to celebrate this abundant time of year.
The Pumpkin Festival, the first artwork in the Great American Celebrations series, embodies the spirit of these traditional hometown events, evoking personal memories that each of us hold dear. As the leaves change to amber and red, families converge in the town square, with children dressed in costumes lovingly made by Mom and Grandma. This Thomas Kinkade painting represents what Fall is really about. From the jack-o-lanterns, costumes, pumpkins, scarecrows, and everything else that represents Halloween is in this fantastic painting. Also many more Fall harvest traditions are here as well from pie eating contest, carriage rides, and of course the awesome fall colours. Thanksgiving gets a shout out too in terms of the pumpkins being there as well, so does hayrides!
I think this is the best Thomas Kinkade has done for a fall season painting. This painting makes me really appreciate and admire how much the fall season means to me. Thank you Thomas Kinkade. Thank you very much.
Was this done by Thomas Kinkade? I thought he had already passed away in 2016
Hello and good morning Carmen,
Yes Thomas Kinkade passed away in 2012. We do have our studio art as well. The studio artists are a group of artist that paint in Thom’s style. Today, the artists of the Thomas Kinkade Studios apply many of the same techniques created and used by Thom during his lifetime; from sketching to digital and oil brushwork, to image recapture and his use of light. Over time, these mastered skills have evolved into a Kinkadian style of art adored by art collectors around the world.
Thank you,
Melissa
