The Village Lighthouse
Art Notes
The Village Lighthouse portrays a village nestled into a rocky shore that I discovered on a seaside stroll in England. The stalwart cottages are built of the same granite that rises in cliffs from the sea. A radiant glow bathes the village, touching the magnificent flowering dogwood and lavish stands of foxgloves and impatiens with light, just as it illuminates the waves that dance over the ocean. Wisps of spray rise from the waves while plumes of smoke ascend from the chimneys. Land and sea, man and nature are in perfect harmony here.

Thomas Kinkade is my absolute favorite artist. I do not believe he ever painted a piece of art that I didn’t just fall in love with. My love for lighthouses I contribute to him. My dream is to travel the world once my youngest has moved away from home and visit lighthouses. I would love to visit the village in The Village Lighthouse that he painted. Losing Thomas at such a young age was/is a great loss to the art world. To think of all the beauty in the world that he was meant to paint for those of us who aren’t able to travel is just heart wrenching.
Thomas, you left a beautiful legacy for us. And I would like to thank you for sharing your gift with us. My heart breaks for your family. My heart breaks for the art we will never get to see because you went home to be with your heavenly father. God bless the Kinkade family.
