Thomas Kinkade Studios
Thomas Kinkade, the famed “Painter of Light,” loved to share his passion for art and his creative process with other artists throughout his career. Thom believed in supporting artist development and exchanged ideas with artists. Through this collaborative environment, Thom passed down his methods and imparted the techniques, concepts and vision for his signature Kinkadian style.Today, the artists of the Thomas Kinkade Studios apply many of the same techniques created and used by Thom during his lifetime; from sketching to digital and oil brushwork, to image recapture and his use of light. Over time, these mastered skills have evolved into a Kinkadian style of art adored by art collectors around the world.

As the evening sun retreats beyond the ship, Susan Constant , and the horizon, a new connection is forming between two distant worlds. The artists at Thomas Kinkade Studios have brilliantly captured one of Disney’s most successful box office hits in one scene entitled, “Pocahontas.” Immersed in traditional Kinkadian light reflecting off the water and illuminating the entire scene, many of the animated characters from the movie are scattered throughout this narrative panorama. The extraordinary life and indomitable spirit of a truly remarkable Native American heroine is celebrated through the artistry and storytelling magic of this painting. “Pocahontas” is a compelling tale of a brave, compassionate young woman who loves nature and "listens with her heart" to help her choose which path to follow. KEY POINTS
- Pocahontas’s friends, the raccoon Meeko and hummingbird Flit, keep a careful watch over her as she travels downstream.
- While exploring, Pocahontas shows John Smith what Grandmother Willow had taught her: Things in nature are connected - they are all one.
- Governor Ratcliffe has the Jamestown settlers build their fortress in a wooded clearing and immediately has the crewmen clear the forest so they can dig for gold.
- Pocahontas's best friend Nakoma and other members of the Powhatan tribe can be seen on the river bank.
- As a magical breeze swirls around John Smith and Pocahontas, suddenly they can understand each other's language!
