Five Questions with Matt Haley:
- 1. Who is the biggest influence on your artistic style?
In school it was Patrick Nagel, was obsessed with his art. Lately I’m really loving David Downton’s art and the classic lines of Rene Gruau's art.
- 2. What sort of music do you listen to when you create artwork?
Sadly, I’m a heavy metal meathead, so it’s a lot of that.
- 3. When did you first realize you wanted to be an artist?
As a lad! Always knew art was the calling, which led to formative years drawing for Marvel & DC, then for Stan Lee.
- 4. Where do you create art?
At home, Wacom has been very generous in their sponsorship, they provide the latest Cintiq to test out.
- 5. Why did you decide to pursue a career in art?
Good question! Never considered a different path, drawing is so much fun and I get to listen to music while working!
