Description

As part of the redesign of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, I was asked to provide an image for use on a large wall. A very large wall – truly a moment of destiny for any artist.

To create the oil painting that would be the basis for the final mural, I utilized one of the largest canvases I have ever attempted in my studio. A full 6 feet wide, this canvas would be enlarged to create the final epic sized mural. As I worked it was as if heavenly light began to pour upon the canvas.

A final aspect of the creative process came when Franklin Graham himself suggested a fitting title for the work: The Cross. This simple title reflects the lifelong calling and legacy of his father, the evangelist Billy Graham.

My prayer is that this painting will bring hope to many just as Billy Graham has brought hope to millions through the gospel message.

These original paintings are the inspiration for the published Limited-Edition Art releases. Original Studies were lovingly created with hundreds of hours of research and brushwork applied to each one.

The Standard Numbered Canvas is individually hand-highlighted and numbered with the designation of S/N in the numbering process.

AP

The Artist Proof Canvas is issued in a small edition. Artist Proofs are individually hand-highlighted and are designated with the letters A/P during the numbering process.

AN

Hand-highlighted and numbered, each Atelier National canvas is designated with the letters A/N. Beginning in January 2003, the monumental size was designated as Atelier National.

EP

The Examination Proof is a special canvas edition offered as an opportunity for collectors to preview select new releases. The canvases are individually hand-highlighted, have the designation of E/P during the numbering process and have a small edition size.

GP

The Gallery Proof Canvas is individually hand-highlighted and can be distinguished by the unique gold foil Remarque stamped onto the image. Gallery Proofs are designated with letters G/P during the numbering process.

PP

The Publisher Proof Canvas is a very small edition available at the discretion of the Publisher. Hand-highlighted and numbered, they are designated PP during the numbering process.

RE

The Renaissance Edition is a special reserve edition created with a textured brushstroke process. A Master Highlighter enhances the image with additional highlights and a special Remarque is applied to the verso side of the canvas. Lastly, a foil-stamped silver Renaissance Edition seal is applied to the back of the canvas. Each Renaissance Edition is designed with the letters R/E during the numbering process.

SP

The Studio Proof is a special reserve edition created with a textured brushstroke process. A Master Highlighter enhances the image with additional highlights and then hand sketches an original and identifying Remarque on the verso side of the canvas. Lastly, a foil-stamped gold Studio Proof seal is applied to the back of the canvas. Each Studio Proof edition is designated with the letters S/P during the numbering process and a metallic authorized signature is applied to the front of the canvas.

EE

The Estate Edition is an extremely limited edition created with a textured process. It is then finished by a Master Highlighter with additional highlighting and a special hand sketched Remarque is applied to the verso side of the canvas. Each Estate Edition is designated by letter E/E during the numbering process.

The Jewel Edition is an extremely limited edition, which includes hand applied "Jewel Dust" to strategic elements of the image. It is then finished by a Master Highlighter with additional highlighting and a special "Jewel Edition" silkscreen Remarque is applied to the verso side of the canvas.
